Welcome to Christ Woven Stories!

Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 is where Solomon reminds us that “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”

In your life you may feel like life is shifting under your feet. Perhaps you wonder why God allows certain seasons to come and go as they do. It could be that you feel stuck, confused, or even frustrated by change.  If this applies to you then, keep reading.

Seasons change — God doesn’t:

Life is seasonal. We know this in nature — spring, summer, fall, winter. But spiritually? Emotionally? Relationally? We experience seasons too. Ecclesiastes 3 lays it out so clearly:

  • A time to plant and a time to uproot
  • A time to weep and a time to laugh
  • A time to mourn and a time to dance
  • A time to keep and a time to let go

It’s almost like Solomon is saying, “Hey, daughter of God — don’t be surprised when life shifts. It’s supposed to.”

But here’s the tension in that: We love the seasons that feel warm, fruitful, and full of joy. However, we resist the seasons that feel cold, quiet, or uncomfortable. Yet every season has purpose. Let’s talk about those moments.

When God nudges us — or sometimes pushes us — into a new season:

Maybe you’re transitioning out of a relationship. It could be that your kids are growing up and your role is changing. You could be stepping into a calling you didn’t expect or you’re healing from something you never asked for in the first place. Also, you could be waiting… and waiting… and waiting. And you’re thinking: “Lord, why does everything feel different?” “Heavenly Father, why does it feel like the ground is shifting?” “Why can’t things stay the same?” But hear this:

God never changes — but He often changes our surroundings so we can grow.

Sometimes He changes our season to protect us. God also changes our season to prepare us, and He changes our season to prune us. There are also times when He changes our season to promote us! But God never changes His character. He never changes His love, faithfulness or presence. Let’s get practical, because I know some of you are in a season that feels uncomfortable. Maybe you’re in a season of:

  • Waiting
  • Healing
  • Transition
  • Loneliness
  • New beginnings
  • Unexpected endings

Here are three truths to anchor your heart:

1. God is already in your next season.

He’s not figuring it out as you go. God is not surprised. He’s not scrambling. God is already there — preparing the way.

2. You don’t have to understand the season to trust the One who allowed it.

Understanding is optional. Trust is essential.

3. Your season may change, but your identity in Christ does not.

You are still chosen. Still loved. You are still called, still held, still seen, sttill secure.

God doesn’t change:

Hebrews tells us Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Also, Malachi says God does not change. Then, James says He is the Father of lights with no shifting shadows.

While your emotions, circumstance, relationships and plans may shift…God remains steady. He is your anchor in the storm and your shade in the heat. God is your comfort in the night and your guide in the unknown. Also, God is your peace in the chaos. That means you can walk through ANY season with confidence!

Let’s talk about acceptance:

Not passive acceptance, but faith-filled acceptance. It sounds like this:

“Lord, I don’t love this season, but I trust You in it.” “Lord, I don’t understand this season, but I know You’re working.” “Lord, this season feels heavy, but I know You’re holding me.” “Lord, this season feels new, but I know You’re guiding me.”

Every season has something to teach you. First, Spring teaches you hope. Second, Summer teaches you joy. Third, Fall teaches you release and Fourth, Winter teaches you rest. And spiritually?

God uses seasons to shape your character, deepen your faith, and draw you closer to Him:

If you feel like your season is stretching you, or if you feel like you’re barely holding on (and I’ve been there too). Let me speak this over you: You are not behind. My friend, you are not forgotten. You are not failing and you are not overlooked. It’s as simple as this…you are in a season — not a sentence. And God is with you in every moment of it.

I want you to carry this truth with you:

Seasons change — God doesn’t:

So whatever season you’re in…Let Him be your constant, your comfort., your guide, your peace, and your strength. And remember: You are walking through this season, not staying in it. God is leading you somewhere beautiful.

Parting Prayer:

Father, thank You for being unchanging in a world full of change. Thank You for walking with us through every season — the joyful ones, the painful ones, the confusing ones, and the unexpected ones. Help everyone listening today to trust You deeply, rest in You fully, and follow You boldly. Give everyone peace in transition, strength in waiting, and hope in every step. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
